Olathe Roofing

Roof Installation & Roof Replacement Experts in Olathe, KS

Hiring a roofing contractor in Olathe and surrounding areas can seem overwhelming. After all, not every roofing company is reliable, much less licensed, bonded and insured. At US Quality Construction, we're proud to provide you with outstanding roofing solutions including roof installation and roof replacement.

Before you hire a roofing contractor near you, be sure to understand and ask questions!

Hiring Olathe Roofers

The first step in hiring a roofing company in your area is to see the quality of their work. Many local roofing contractors have a portfolio that shows off their roof installation and roof replacement projects. Large homes, small homes and complex roofing projects can all be found here. The more experience your roofer has with different projects, the better they can help serve your unique needs.

After browsing portfolios, contact 3-4 local roofing companies to ask for a consultation. Don't hesitate to ask about references, reviews and qualifications. The best roofing contractors won't hesitate to share this information with you. Eliminate any roofing company that is not:

Experienced - If they are a fly-by-night company that just started recently, they may not have enough experience to get the job done right

Licensed in the area - The best roofing companies have secured the necessary licenses and permits to be able to do business in the local area.

Insured - In case an accident occurs on your property, having insurance means you won't be liable for the damages and/or medical bills. An insured roofing contractor is as much for your protection as it is theirs!

Bonded - This means that in the case where you need to file a claim against the company, that they have money available for this purpose.

Willing to provide references - If a roofing company hesitates to provide you with references, there must be a reason!

More than Just A Local Roofing Company

Oftentimes a roofing contractor will do more than just roof installation or roof replacement. Ask about things like leaky roof repair, roof damage repair, roof waterproofing and roof insulating. In Olathe and surrounding areas, the weather can be rough, and having a roof that protects your home is about more than just providing shelter -- it's about protecting your investment in your home!

Why Hire a Olathe Roofing Replacement Company?

Instead of simply hiring an independent roofing contractor, we strongly recommend that you hire a professional roofing company. Roofing contractors are accustomed to handling larger jobs and have access to a wider range of quality roofing materials to ensure the job gets done right. In addition, their work is covered by manufacturer warranties which can give you added peace of mind. This allows them to complete the work at the best possible price without cutting corners.

Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Local Roofing Contractor

Above all, before you hire a roofing company in Olathe or surrounding areas, it's important to ask them the following questions when they come to evaluate the project and provide you with your free consultation:

  • What types of roofing do you install?
  • Do you have a current, up-to-date license to perform this kind of work in my area?
  • Do you work with homeowner's insurance to file claims?
  • What type of insurance do you have and what type of coverage?
  • Can you provide me with 2-3 references?
  • Do you offer free on-site inspection?

Which Roofing Installation Contractor Near Me Should I Choose?

You will likely get a variety of bids on your project from all types of roofing companies near you. There will be bids that are solidly in the middle-of-the-road, while there may be some that are lower, but as a result, the contractor is swamped with projects and may not get back to you in a timely manner. Experience can be your best friend here when deciding on which contractor to go with. The quote may be higher, but it will save you a headache in the long run of having to repair or replace the roof because of shoddy workmanship!

Especially be cautious about door-to-door roofing contractors that come by after a storm and offer to help replace or repair your roof as these individuals can be predatory and charge you a much higher fee for lower quality work. Always ask to check their license, insurance and references before you hire them.

Do You Already Know What Type of Roofing You Want?

If you already know what type of roofing material you want, this cuts down on your workload considerably by finding a suitable roofing contractor in Olathe to help get the job done. Not all roofing companies have experience with all types of roofs. For example, some may be more experienced with installing shingles or metal roofs while others may not have enough experience to install things like natural slate, cedar shakes or clay tiles.

You'll be glad to know that at US Quality Construction, we pride ourselves on having the experience and expertise to install a variety of roofing types to suit your needs and budget. We invite you to give us a call or fill out the quote form on our website and let us know more about your roof installation or roof replacement project.

About Olathe, KS

The city of Olathe, KS, is one of the oldest communities of Johnson County and that of the State of Kansas. Olathe, KS, is to be found at the geographical center of Johnson County on the historic Santa Fe, and on the Oregon and California Trail.

In historical times, Olathe, KS, was a major stop for travelers along the Santa Fe Trail. Up to 600 wagons per week traveling to goldfields and farming settlements in the far west make a stop at Olathe, KS.

Olathe, KS, is, however, not just a city to be found in Johnson County, it also doubles as its county seat even though it wasn't the first city of the County. The word Olathe means beautiful in the old Shawnee Indian word.

The birth of Olathe, KS, took place in the spring of 1857 when with Dr. John T. Barton when he rode to the focal point of Johnson County and staked two-quarter sections of land as the town spot. He would later describe his ride to friends with the description (or something similar) – "the prairie was enclosed with verbena and other wildflowers. I've been thinking about how beautiful the land is and I would love to name the town Beautiful."

As rumor has it, Barton asked a Shawnee interpreter what the word for "Beautiful" is in his native language. The interpreter would respond, "Olathe." That was how Olathe, KS, got its name.

In the same year, Olathe, KS, was incorporated. Even though it wasn't the first city in Johnson County, its speedy growth and development earned it the right to be named as the county seat in October 1859.

Olathe, KS is not without his fair share of troubles. In its early developmental stages, Olathe, KS, saw numerous clashes between abolitionist settlers and Missouri, a neighboring slave state. The clashes would further escalate to become a part of the greater conflict referred to as Bleeding Kansas. It took the admission of Kansas in 1861 into the Union as a free state for normalcy to be restored.

The 1850 construction of the Interstate highway system played a huge role in getting Olathe, KS, connected to the immediate City of Kansas. This also secured Olathe, KS, a spot in the Kansas City metropolitan area, and facilitated incredible residential growth. Olathe, KS, saw a remarkable boom in commercial growth in the 1980s, which attracted more people to migrate.

Data from the last official census conducted by the United States Census Bureau in 2010, reveal the population of Olathe, KS, to be 125,872. This means Olathe, KS, is the fourth most populous city in the Kansas City metropolitan area and in Kansas State. The Census Bureau expects the figure to have grown to 140,545 by 2019. Other findings revealed that Olathe, KS, has 44,507 households and 33,274 families living in the city with a population density of 2,109.8 people per square mile.

Olathe covers an entire 60.42 square miles, out of which only 0.76 square miles are covered by water.

The racial composition of Olathe, KS, is not so bad. The city is largely dominated by Whites who account for 83.1%. Closely following are Hispanics and Latinos of any race with 10.2%. Others are African Americans with 5.3%, Asians with 4.1%, and Native Americans with 0.4%. People of other races are 4.2% while those from two or more races are 3.0%.

Economic-wise, Olathe is not doing poorly. The city is home to many companies such as ALDI, Garmin, Husqvarna, Farmers Insurance Group Honeywell, and Grundfos. Olathe was ranked the 24thfastest-growing city in the United States by the Census Bureau and 11th "100 Best Cities to Live in the United States" by CNN and Money in 2008.

Several educational institutions can be found in the city of Olathe which include five high schools, 10 middle schools, and 36 elementary schools. Others are MidAmerican Nazarene University and the Kansas State School for the Deaf.
