Humbly nestled in the peaceful and quiet Missouri countryside of Livingston County is SpringHill, MO, an unincorporated community.
As a community, Springhill, MO, went through many historical developments. Initially, the town was called Navestown, chosen by a store owner named Jesse Nave in the early 1930s, who named the site after himself. Along with Isabella Nave, Jesse Nave came from Tennessee back in 1831. By 1938, a post office by the name of Naves Store would be established, leading to other businesses being opened and transforming the once barren settlement into a thriving place of business. Jesse Nave himself would become the first postmaster for the post office.
Furthermore, the settlement of Nave Town (now present-day Springhill, MO) was located on a well-traveled route during the Great American Pioneer. Because of this, its trade center was visited by many people, with news traveling that the settlement is a prosperous place to be.
Come 1840; however, the now-thriving community would be renamed Spring Hill, after the flowing springs near the original townsite. The post office will also be closed by 1901.
