About Osage Beach, MO

The city of Osage Beach has its location in the counties of Miller and Camden, Missouri State. A larger area of the place is in Camden's county while the rest is in Miller's county.

Osage Beach was named after a sand beach that's human-made on the Osage River banks, near the steep hill foot. In 1928, Osage Beach became platted by developers of real estate. They got sold to Zebra town in a lot even before the completion of the Dam. There were two smaller towns near the Osage River. They included Zebra and Damsdel; hence Zebra got its appearance stripped from Osage River and the nearby bluffs.

The two towns were later incorporated to become Osage Beach. Before the Dam was finished, a nickname was given to the Bridge of Grand Glaize. It was named the Upside Down Bridge due to the structure frame that was located underneath. It was meant to offer the residents a view that was unimpeded towards the lake.

Osage Beach is a city that has been split between two markets on television.The first part is at the county of Camden, in Springfield, while the other part can be found in Miller County. It has its market that is part of the city of Jefferson and Columbia. The cable system of the TV using Charter Communication. The story behind the cave is that of a legend from a Native American who was a woman. She killed herself by jumping and dying in the cave. Later on, her best friend had her wedding done at the location, hence Bridal Cave. Many couples have come to the place and tied the knot there. Osage Beach contains two general airports, which include the Lee C. Fine Memorial Airport and the Grand Glaize- Osage Beach Airport. They are both located seven miles away in Kaiser. Other significant commercial airports have their location near Osage Beach. They include the Columbia Region and Springfield Branson National Airports. Robert Regional Airport is located a bit further away from Osage Beach.
