About Sedalia, MO
Sedalia is a small city in the state of Missouri (USA). The population according to the 2010 census is 21,387 people. The city is the administrative center of Pettis County.
Sedalia has been known since the middle of the XIX century, founded in 1857, but at first only formally, "on paper", since the original name of the city was Sedville. Only during the next three years the new name of the city was accepted by its habitats.
The modern territory of Sedalia as well as the surrounding lands, were occupied by indigenous peoples for many centuries before the appearance of the first settlers from Europe.
The population of Sedalia has always been significant. Already in 1900, the city had more than 1,500 inhabitants. The number of inhabitants is steadily growing. At the moment, more than 21,000 people live in the city. Sedalia is quite young – the average age of residents is only 34 years. 85 percent of the residents are white.
Sedalia is characterized by a large social stratum of the middle class.
