Sedalia Roofing

Roof Installation & Roof Replacement Experts in Sedalia, MO

Hiring a roofing contractor in Sedalia and surrounding areas can seem overwhelming. After all, not every roofing company is reliable, much less licensed, bonded and insured. At US Quality Construction, we're proud to provide you with outstanding roofing solutions including roof installation and roof replacement.

Before you hire a roofing contractor near you, be sure to understand and ask questions!

Hiring Sedalia Roofers

The first step in hiring a roofing company in your area is to see the quality of their work. Many local roofing contractors have a portfolio that shows off their roof installation and roof replacement projects. Large homes, small homes and complex roofing projects can all be found here. The more experience your roofer has with different projects, the better they can help serve your unique needs.

After browsing portfolios, contact 3-4 local roofing companies to ask for a consultation. Don't hesitate to ask about references, reviews and qualifications. The best roofing contractors won't hesitate to share this information with you. Eliminate any roofing company that is not:

Experienced - If they are a fly-by-night company that just started recently, they may not have enough experience to get the job done right

Licensed in the area - The best roofing companies have secured the necessary licenses and permits to be able to do business in the local area.

Insured - In case an accident occurs on your property, having insurance means you won't be liable for the damages and/or medical bills. An insured roofing contractor is as much for your protection as it is theirs!

Bonded - This means that in the case where you need to file a claim against the company, that they have money available for this purpose.

Willing to provide references - If a roofing company hesitates to provide you with references, there must be a reason!

More than Just A Local Roofing Company

Oftentimes a roofing contractor will do more than just roof installation or roof replacement. Ask about things like leaky roof repair, roof damage repair, roof waterproofing and roof insulating. In Sedalia and surrounding areas, the weather can be rough, and having a roof that protects your home is about more than just providing shelter -- it's about protecting your investment in your home!

Why Hire a Sedalia Roofing Replacement Company?

Instead of simply hiring an independent roofing contractor, we strongly recommend that you hire a professional roofing company. Roofing contractors are accustomed to handling larger jobs and have access to a wider range of quality roofing materials to ensure the job gets done right. In addition, their work is covered by manufacturer warranties which can give you added peace of mind. This allows them to complete the work at the best possible price without cutting corners.

Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Local Roofing Contractor

Above all, before you hire a roofing company in Sedalia or surrounding areas, it's important to ask them the following questions when they come to evaluate the project and provide you with your free consultation:

  • What types of roofing do you install?
  • Do you have a current, up-to-date license to perform this kind of work in my area?
  • Do you work with homeowner's insurance to file claims?
  • What type of insurance do you have and what type of coverage?
  • Can you provide me with 2-3 references?
  • Do you offer free on-site inspection?

Which Roofing Installation Contractor Near Me Should I Choose?

You will likely get a variety of bids on your project from all types of roofing companies near you. There will be bids that are solidly in the middle-of-the-road, while there may be some that are lower, but as a result, the contractor is swamped with projects and may not get back to you in a timely manner. Experience can be your best friend here when deciding on which contractor to go with. The quote may be higher, but it will save you a headache in the long run of having to repair or replace the roof because of shoddy workmanship!

Especially be cautious about door-to-door roofing contractors that come by after a storm and offer to help replace or repair your roof as these individuals can be predatory and charge you a much higher fee for lower quality work. Always ask to check their license, insurance and references before you hire them.

Do You Already Know What Type of Roofing You Want?

If you already know what type of roofing material you want, this cuts down on your workload considerably by finding a suitable roofing contractor in Sedalia to help get the job done. Not all roofing companies have experience with all types of roofs. For example, some may be more experienced with installing shingles or metal roofs while others may not have enough experience to install things like natural slate, cedar shakes or clay tiles.

You'll be glad to know that at US Quality Construction, we pride ourselves on having the experience and expertise to install a variety of roofing types to suit your needs and budget. We invite you to give us a call or fill out the quote form on our website and let us know more about your roof installation or roof replacement project.

About Sedalia, MO

This is the story of a city that rose from the ashes that war and fires left behind. Sedalia, MO went through ups and downs throughout time to turn into what it is today. A 13.4 square miles city, home to many, and temporary destination to some others.

Because it’s constantly striving towards modernization, the story of Sedalia, MO might surprise you, since it started as a humble railroad town. However, the story of this city dates before rails had taken over the land.

In the beginning, the region where Sedalia, MO is located today was inhabited by some groups of the Shawnee Indians. They shared the territory with their main population, the Osage tribe.

The founder, George R. Smith, was a General in the army who’d purchase 503 of land that, today, we know as Sedalia, MO.

Smith named the town “Sedville”, but it ended up turning into the name we know today. After purchasing the acres, he started selling parcels in this town where there was nothing but pastures.

Years passed and so did the settlers. Sedalia, MO seemed to be nothing more than no-man’s land. The entire town existed on paper only, and only a few scattered houses constituted it. It was so until Sedalia, MO was declared an official settlement halfway into the 19th century.

After people started noticing Sedalia, MO, the town hoped to attract enough attention so a railroad would pass through. Eventually, their desires came true. Thanks to the struggles of General Smith, Sedalia, MO became the final station of the Missouri Pacific Railroad.

A couple of hundred people moved into the new settlement. The future of the little town was promising until the Civil War broke out in 1861. Sedalia, MO quickly became a spot for the operations of the military.

The activities during that time turned Sedalia, MO into a target for the Confederate sympathizers. The little town struggled to keep its humble structures intact. Fires, attacks and fights were the cause of constant fuss amongst the military and the few people of the town.

But the town wasn’t ready to give up on their development.

As the end of the war got near, life in the small town seemed to cease. But when the war was officially over, Sedalia, MO was reborn.

In 1864 Sedalia, MO started to be a charter city. Authorities started to get elected and the town started its slow recovery from what was left from the civil war. By the end of the year, they had already had a courthouse built for their town.

The war had taken a big toll on the town, resources and men were lost in the conflict. However, the legislature made sure amends were made to the charter city Sedalia, MO had become.

A new era seemed to be born when the town witnessed the first train with passengers departing from their small station in 1870. The line ended partnering with another one to provide extended services after that day.

This connection between crucial cities became vital for the people of the region, and so did Sedalia, MO. Three years later after this historical train departure, construction seemed to pick up a new pace in the town.

By the end of the century, in 1896, Katy Depot was built in Sedalia, MO. It is, until today, one historical monument to the railroad industry and the importance this little town played in it and in the war.

The demand for passenger trains decreased drastically over the years, the car industry took over and in little time travel by train got lost in time. But Sedalia, MO possesses the constant reminder of how places that seem small can achieve big things in time.

The life of the city has been anything but ordinary. The economy didn’t come to a halt when the train industry did, it evolved. Sedalia, MO is today home to an enormous variety of businesses that take part in its diverse commercial concept.

The ever-praised was dearly remembered in the beginning of the 21st century, so renovations took place. As an ode to the past, the old Katy Depot became the current Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitor’s Bureau of Sedalia, MO.
