Jefferson City Roofing

Roof Installation & Roof Replacement Experts in Jefferson City, MO

Hiring a roofing contractor in Jefferson City and surrounding areas can seem overwhelming. After all, not every roofing company is reliable, much less licensed, bonded and insured. At US Quality Construction, we're proud to provide you with outstanding roofing solutions including roof installation and roof replacement.

Before you hire a roofing contractor near you, be sure to understand and ask questions!

Hiring Jefferson City Roofers

The first step in hiring a roofing company in your area is to see the quality of their work. Many local roofing contractors have a portfolio that shows off their roof installation and roof replacement projects. Large homes, small homes and complex roofing projects can all be found here. The more experience your roofer has with different projects, the better they can help serve your unique needs.

After browsing portfolios, contact 3-4 local roofing companies to ask for a consultation. Don't hesitate to ask about references, reviews and qualifications. The best roofing contractors won't hesitate to share this information with you. Eliminate any roofing company that is not:

Experienced - If they are a fly-by-night company that just started recently, they may not have enough experience to get the job done right

Licensed in the area - The best roofing companies have secured the necessary licenses and permits to be able to do business in the local area.

Insured - In case an accident occurs on your property, having insurance means you won't be liable for the damages and/or medical bills. An insured roofing contractor is as much for your protection as it is theirs!

Bonded - This means that in the case where you need to file a claim against the company, that they have money available for this purpose.

Willing to provide references - If a roofing company hesitates to provide you with references, there must be a reason!

More than Just A Local Roofing Company

Oftentimes a roofing contractor will do more than just roof installation or roof replacement. Ask about things like leaky roof repair, roof damage repair, roof waterproofing and roof insulating. In Jefferson City and surrounding areas, the weather can be rough, and having a roof that protects your home is about more than just providing shelter -- it's about protecting your investment in your home!

Why Hire a Jefferson City Roofing Replacement Company?

Instead of simply hiring an independent roofing contractor, we strongly recommend that you hire a professional roofing company. Roofing contractors are accustomed to handling larger jobs and have access to a wider range of quality roofing materials to ensure the job gets done right. In addition, their work is covered by manufacturer warranties which can give you added peace of mind. This allows them to complete the work at the best possible price without cutting corners.

Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Local Roofing Contractor

Above all, before you hire a roofing company in Jefferson City or surrounding areas, it's important to ask them the following questions when they come to evaluate the project and provide you with your free consultation:

  • What types of roofing do you install?
  • Do you have a current, up-to-date license to perform this kind of work in my area?
  • Do you work with homeowner's insurance to file claims?
  • What type of insurance do you have and what type of coverage?
  • Can you provide me with 2-3 references?
  • Do you offer free on-site inspection?

Which Roofing Installation Contractor Near Me Should I Choose?

You will likely get a variety of bids on your project from all types of roofing companies near you. There will be bids that are solidly in the middle-of-the-road, while there may be some that are lower, but as a result, the contractor is swamped with projects and may not get back to you in a timely manner. Experience can be your best friend here when deciding on which contractor to go with. The quote may be higher, but it will save you a headache in the long run of having to repair or replace the roof because of shoddy workmanship!

Especially be cautious about door-to-door roofing contractors that come by after a storm and offer to help replace or repair your roof as these individuals can be predatory and charge you a much higher fee for lower quality work. Always ask to check their license, insurance and references before you hire them.

Do You Already Know What Type of Roofing You Want?

If you already know what type of roofing material you want, this cuts down on your workload considerably by finding a suitable roofing contractor in Jefferson City to help get the job done. Not all roofing companies have experience with all types of roofs. For example, some may be more experienced with installing shingles or metal roofs while others may not have enough experience to install things like natural slate, cedar shakes or clay tiles.

You'll be glad to know that at US Quality Construction, we pride ourselves on having the experience and expertise to install a variety of roofing types to suit your needs and budget. We invite you to give us a call or fill out the quote form on our website and let us know more about your roof installation or roof replacement project.

About Jefferson City, MO

Jefferson City grew specifically to be the capital for Missouri. However, back then it was more of a bare land than what would have been expected of a city's capital. So Missouri’s capital was temporarily transferred to St. Charles before Jefferson City developed into capital city standards.

However, a cold war arose from neighboring towns that had outstanding developments than Jefferson City which had pigs grazing on the schemed land for construction of capital offices. As it was master-planned by Daniel Morgan, the main offices building, a general store, a hotel, and a few other countable buildings constructions got completed.

So in 1826, the capital’s offices officially moved to Jefferson City; the town named after the third President of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson. A move that did not satisfy the neighboring towns; they pushed for a motion to move the capital from Jefferson City. However, in 1832, the city’s governor, John Miller took an initiative to strengthen Jefferson City standards as the capital by suggesting, the building of a state prison there.

The move was well received and the prison’s construction kicked off with its completion seen 4 years later in 1836. However, disaster struck in 1837 when the Missouri capitol building in Jefferson City, burnt down and all the capital's documents turned into Ashes. Luckily, there was the ongoing construction of a second capital building which was hastened. In 1840, the second building was completed and the capital's offices moved in it.

In 1911, Jefferson City, had to go through another disaster when lightning struck the new capitol building’s dome, burning down the whole building. However, that did not deter the vision of Jefferson City, being Missouri’s capital. So a third building -that several decades later became a main tourist attraction in the city, was quickly erected in the same spot as the previous building.

The main magnificent points of attraction in the new building are, the 13 ft by 8 ft mammoth bronze door at its entrance, and the sculpture of the goddess of grain. Ceres, the sculpture is in front of the building’s entrance as the pride of Jefferson City in agricultural heritage. The building’s inside has a 9000 pounds bronze decoration chandelier, hanging 171 feet from the dome. This is in addition to Sir Frank Brangwyn’s painting on the eye of the dome. This painting is visible from the ground floor despite it being more than 200 feet high on the Dome's panels and its eye.

Other attraction sites in what was Jefferson City, office building includes various paintings of Missouri States' history and a state museum located on the buildings ground floor. Many years later, the number of people touring the building increased gradually forcing authorities in Jefferson City, to set visit guidelines. Some of these rules included banned visits on Christmas, New Year, Easter, and Thanksgiving holidays. Later, a further rule on visits in only 7 days a week was set.

Jefferson City had its share of unrest amid the civil war in 1860-1865. The, then Missouri state, Governor, Claiborne Jackson pushed for the continuation of the slave trade, despite president Abraham Lincoln's stand on ending slavery. The governor further ignored the functionality of the federal authorities and failed to send troops to represent Jefferson City, in the Union army. These led to firey attacks when Jefferson City was overrun by the union troops leaving the city in Union hands.

However, close to a decade later, peace gradually grew into the city championed by the Missouri Constitution of 1875. In the late 90’s still in the 18th Century, Sedalia state attempted overthrowing the capital from Jefferson City. But, the wrest failed by a popular vote engineered among Missouri State Citizens.

Jefferson City gradually developed, and the state prison that was built there, in addition to Missouri Military history, the Runge Nature Center, Governors' mansion, and other sites in Jefferson City, became famous tourist attraction sites. You can lock yourself in the cells and feel the atmosphere of what was once a state prison. Today Jefferson City, records the lowest cost of living and, highest revenue collection.
