Williamsburg, KS Replacement Windows

#1 Premier Window Installation Company in Williamsburg, KS

Does your home feel stuffy, drafty or cold? Do you notice that your electric or heating bills are going up substantially? It may be time for replacement windows in Williamsburg. The good news is, hiring a windows installation company is easier than ever. But doing a search on "window installers near me" is likely going to give you thousands upon thousands of results. How do you know that the companies are reputable and reliable?

Fortunately, as a leading window installation company serving Sedalia, Williamsburg and surrounding areas, we know what homeowners are looking for when it comes to having replacement windows installed. Hiring the right window replacement contractor is just as important as the actual replacement windows themselves! We install the following types of windows:

  • Vinyl
  • Fiberglass
  • Aluminum
  • Wood
  • Composite

Here's how to make sure your replacement windows installation goes as smoothly as possible:

Decide on the Right Replacement Windows Company

Every home is different and for that reason, no two window replacement projects are alike. It's a good idea to research different window installation options since many window installers are familiar with only a few types of windows. For example, if you want to install energy-efficient windows, your windows contractor may recommend a PVC or fiberglass window. But even among those options you have different levels of window efficiency in terms of letting in air and sunlight.

Understanding not just the type of window you want, but the type of materials you choose for it will have a lasting impact on the quality of your window installation, and is just as important as hiring your replacement window installer! Beyond the windows themselves, it's important that when receiving quotes from your windows contractors, that you be ready to ask them important questions, many of which we've detailed for you below.

Why Should I Contact Window Contractors In My Area?

Window replacement bids should be more than just a price. The best window replacement quotes should include the types of materials and products being used as well as whether or not materials and labor are included in the price. The right bid also includes a start and end date. In short, the more specific the bid, the better.

You should also ask that the bid include payment terms. Never agree to pay the full amount up front, no matter how good of a deal it looks like. Generally speaking, most windows contractors will ask for 20-30% up front and the rest paid along the way or immediately once the job is done to your satisfaction.

Go Over the Contract in Detail for Your Replacement Windows

One of the most important things to consider during your window installation is what happens if something goes wrong years down the road. Be sure that you're covered according to the manufacturer's warranty.

A standard warranty is around 10 years and a good contractor will also include a workmanship warranty of at least two years to protect against any issues that may arise from installation of your replacement windows. The main reason why most windows break after installation is due to faulty installation, so be sure to have this part of the warranty specified in writing before you choose a window replacement company.

Verify the References of Your Local, Replacement Windows Contractor

In addition to checking the references of your windows contractor, also check the references of the windows manufacturer. You want to choose not only a reliable windows installer, but quality, well-made windows. Ask to see photos from other projects that are similar to yours and make sure to ask how long the company has been in business. You want to know how the company resolves issues as well as whether or not they stand behind their work. You want a company that works with windows consistently.

Fortunately, you'll be glad to know that at US Quality Construction, our specialties include replacement windows, replacement siding, decking and roofing. That's all we do, and we're incredibly good at it, as evinced by the dozens of five star reviews we've received from delighted homeowners across Missouri!

Check the Windows Installers License

Last but certainly not least, before starting a project you'll want to be sure that your windows contractor meets the proper requirements for your local area. That includes whether or not your jurisdiction requires a permit and if the contractor is properly licensed or registered for the type of work you need performed.

Ask to make sure that the windows installation company has the proper documentation and is licensed, bonded and insured. This not only protects you in case there is an accident, but it also protects the company and is vital to ensuring that you're not hit with a big claim from your homeowner's insurance in the event of an injury on the job!

Working with a properly licensed and insured windows installation company protects all parties involved and gives you greater peace of mind that the job is being handled by true professionals.

About Williamsburg, KS

Sitting just southwest of Ottawa on the I-35 in Williamsburg, KS, a small but thriving town in the Franklin County of Kansas State. Here are some facts about this interesting little town in the country.

First founded back in April of 1868, Williamsburg, KS, is named after its founder, William Schofield. A year after its establishment, the first post office would open in 1869, cementing its place in American land. Located at 38°28′48″N 95°27′58″W (38.480115, -95.466016), the town of Williamsburg is one of the smaller towns in the state, measuring only a total of 0.66 square miles in size, or 1.71 square kilometers.

There are a few notable things to take note of in the history of Williamsburg, KS. First off, Williamsburg was originally spelled Williamsburgh up until 1894. Williamsburg, KS, also showed great promise as a manufacturing center during its early days, as innovative enterprises like a large flour mill, a sawmill, and a cheese factory were all quickly built not long after its establishment. At one point, the city even had three doctors, along with a dentist and offices for real estate, insurance, and law.

Additionally, Native American tribes were also known to routinely help settlers get across the plains, often acting as guides and messengers between wagon trains. When the city of Williamsburg, KS, reached its prime, its business district comprised three blocks on Main Street. It was also prosperous in the coal mining industry, delivering the "best coal" to 39 cities and communities.

However, that’s not to say that Williamsburg, KS, didn’t go through its fair share of tragic events throughout history. For one thing, Williamsburg, KS, accidentally had a fire that burned half of it during 1890. Several years later, a lightning strike would start another fire, burning barns, stables, and carriage sheds. Following that, two large fires would also decimate the main business block of Williamsburg, KS, with the latest one destroying the school’s gymnasium back in 1942.

Nowadays, however, Williamsburg, KS, is quiet and scenic. The Tequa Creek, named after an Indian named Tequa, flows peacefully just west of the town, where many families and kids spend their Sunday afternoons having picnics. Hiking and exploring the nearby prairies are also a hobby of many people in Williamsburg, KS. It helps that the area is characterized by hot, humid summers alongside generally mild to cool winters. Williamsburg, KS, is categorized to have a humid subtropical climate, making it favorable for people that love spending time in the outdoors.

As for city life, Williamsburg, KS, offers a mix of suburban and rural, with most of the residents owning their homes. While it’s definitely on the smaller side, Williamsburg, KS, also has its must-visit spots and establishments. For one thing, there's the old and famous tavern known for their BBQ ribs, while just outside of Williamsburg, KS, is a retreat center and lovely orchard. Each year, people from all over Franklin County visit Williamsburg, KS, for Jayhawker Days, the town’s famous annual fair. Running from June 12th up until June 14th, Jayhawker Days, which celebrates the history of the people of Kansas. The term "jayhawker" itself is used to mean a member of a band of anti-slavery and abolitionist guerillas from the state, before becoming a common nickname for anyone from Kansas.

Aside from that, the Williamsburg Community Museum is also worth noting for its historic collection, which includes Mining pieces, Historic school items, and Veterans memorabilia.

Despite being a small town sandwiched between miles and miles of darkness, and despite its small population, the town of Williamsburg, KS, is tidy and connected. The town held on to its local elementary school, and its famous Guy and Mae’s Tavern is the kind that people will drive miles and miles just to visit. Now, Williamsburg, KS, has even recently opened its new community library, which is a quaint and charming community space that people can visit for gatherings and meetups. It's functional, its community is connected, and it's a living, breathing town that is not going away anytime soon.
