Prairie Village, KS Replacement Windows

#1 Premier Window Installation Company in Prairie Village, KS

Does your home feel stuffy, drafty or cold? Do you notice that your electric or heating bills are going up substantially? It may be time for replacement windows in Prairie Village. The good news is, hiring a windows installation company is easier than ever. But doing a search on "window installers near me" is likely going to give you thousands upon thousands of results. How do you know that the companies are reputable and reliable?

Fortunately, as a leading window installation company serving Sedalia, Prairie Village and surrounding areas, we know what homeowners are looking for when it comes to having replacement windows installed. Hiring the right window replacement contractor is just as important as the actual replacement windows themselves! We install the following types of windows:

  • Vinyl
  • Fiberglass
  • Aluminum
  • Wood
  • Composite

Here's how to make sure your replacement windows installation goes as smoothly as possible:

Decide on the Right Replacement Windows Company

Every home is different and for that reason, no two window replacement projects are alike. It's a good idea to research different window installation options since many window installers are familiar with only a few types of windows. For example, if you want to install energy-efficient windows, your windows contractor may recommend a PVC or fiberglass window. But even among those options you have different levels of window efficiency in terms of letting in air and sunlight.

Understanding not just the type of window you want, but the type of materials you choose for it will have a lasting impact on the quality of your window installation, and is just as important as hiring your replacement window installer! Beyond the windows themselves, it's important that when receiving quotes from your windows contractors, that you be ready to ask them important questions, many of which we've detailed for you below.

Why Should I Contact Window Contractors In My Area?

Window replacement bids should be more than just a price. The best window replacement quotes should include the types of materials and products being used as well as whether or not materials and labor are included in the price. The right bid also includes a start and end date. In short, the more specific the bid, the better.

You should also ask that the bid include payment terms. Never agree to pay the full amount up front, no matter how good of a deal it looks like. Generally speaking, most windows contractors will ask for 20-30% up front and the rest paid along the way or immediately once the job is done to your satisfaction.

Go Over the Contract in Detail for Your Replacement Windows

One of the most important things to consider during your window installation is what happens if something goes wrong years down the road. Be sure that you're covered according to the manufacturer's warranty.

A standard warranty is around 10 years and a good contractor will also include a workmanship warranty of at least two years to protect against any issues that may arise from installation of your replacement windows. The main reason why most windows break after installation is due to faulty installation, so be sure to have this part of the warranty specified in writing before you choose a window replacement company.

Verify the References of Your Local, Replacement Windows Contractor

In addition to checking the references of your windows contractor, also check the references of the windows manufacturer. You want to choose not only a reliable windows installer, but quality, well-made windows. Ask to see photos from other projects that are similar to yours and make sure to ask how long the company has been in business. You want to know how the company resolves issues as well as whether or not they stand behind their work. You want a company that works with windows consistently.

Fortunately, you'll be glad to know that at US Quality Construction, our specialties include replacement windows, replacement siding, decking and roofing. That's all we do, and we're incredibly good at it, as evinced by the dozens of five star reviews we've received from delighted homeowners across Missouri!

Check the Windows Installers License

Last but certainly not least, before starting a project you'll want to be sure that your windows contractor meets the proper requirements for your local area. That includes whether or not your jurisdiction requires a permit and if the contractor is properly licensed or registered for the type of work you need performed.

Ask to make sure that the windows installation company has the proper documentation and is licensed, bonded and insured. This not only protects you in case there is an accident, but it also protects the company and is vital to ensuring that you're not hit with a big claim from your homeowner's insurance in the event of an injury on the job!

Working with a properly licensed and insured windows installation company protects all parties involved and gives you greater peace of mind that the job is being handled by true professionals.

About Prairie Village, KS

You might or might have not heard about Prairie Village, KS. This is a medium sized city in the western part of the Kansas state, just miles below the heart of Kansas City.

Prairie Village, KS is part of the Kansas Metropolitan area, but not many know that this city was born out of a dreamer’s idea. It was J.C. Nichols vision of further development of his hometown.

The Franklin Park in Prairie Village, KS is one of the most frequented green spaces of the area. The families and children who make their weekly visits there bring life and joy to the natural space.

The dining pavilion at the park holds the warmest gatherings for the adults while the younger citizens get to enjoy the playgrounds scattered in the park.

However, this wasn’t always like this.

The land we know as Prairie Village, KS was owned by the Shawnee, the Kansa and the Osage Indians in the earliest stages of its history.

Sometime after the first settlers of the area, an important and wealthy family decided to purchase land in the region. The porters bought 160 acres in 1858 and decided to move there to lead a peaceful small town life.

Thomas Porter, the man of the family, had always been involved in the affairs regarding the agricultural development of the farming terrain and civic affairs that would concern the growing community. Prairie Village, KS started off as a family farm.

The growth never stopped, and people decided to settle near there, with the dream of it becoming a city one day.

The planning of Prairie Village, KS started before the middle of the 20th century. It’s hard to believe that in less than 100 years, the village was able to grow until it became a fruitful city. The Prairie School was even more ancient than the initial settlements of the farmers, and it’s what inspired the name of Prairie Village, KS.

Right after the plans for Prairie Village, KS were ready in 1941, the construction started. A few years later, the dream of J.C. Nichols was no longer a dream. In 1949 the village received recognition for being the best planned community throughout the entire country.

After the National Association of Home Builders awarded Nichol’s project, the progress never stopped. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean there weren’t obstacles that the people and authorities of the community didn’t have to overcome.

After the second world war, the sequels of the international struggles were many, including the lack of manual workers. Because of the men who had fought in the war, it was hard to find builders to make Prairie Village, KS a reality. But Nichols didn’t give up.

The first Shopping Center in the area was officially inaugurated in 1947, and it was nothing less than an extremely successful construction. After this event, the hurdles seem to get smaller in time.

J.C. Nichols, native to Johnson County, had been in charge of the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. Instead of continuing other development pursuits, he decided to transform the land of Prairie Village, KS into a community engineered to offer comfort and security to the locals.

In 1951 all the efforts were recognized as Prairie Village, KS was officially named a city. Four years later, yet another Shopping space was built for the community.

Nowadays, Prairie Village, KS is the sixth more inhabited city in Johnson County amongst the 20 that make it up.

The pieces of history that constitute Prairie Village, KS can still be enjoyed today, they have changed in time, but they are not lost. What we know as the Prairie Village, KS Country Club in which many events are held each year, was nothing more than the Coppock family farms in 1865.

Beside living in what used to be old land for the first settlers, Prairie Village, KS is also home to pieces of the Santa Fe Trail. This was a route that connected many cities and states along the country.

Prairie Village, KS is much more than a perfect design for its inhabitants, it is a dream of a better life for the residents of the land. Not only literally a dream come true, but one of the most famous old routes passes through Prairie Village, KS.

These are some of the many charms that make this small city a cultural gem.
